What Makes Nigerian Ukazi Okasi Soup Special?

Ukazi Soup stands out because of its main ingredient – the Ukazi (Okazi) leaves. These dark green, slightly tough leaves are rich in fiber and give the soup its signature texture. While Ukazi leaves are not as soft as spinach or ugu, they add a delightful chewiness that makes every spoonful satisfying.

Traditionally, Ukazi Soup is cooked with a combination of:

• Ground egusi or achi as thickener
